the WEEKEND--a PERFECT TIME to work on your ERIC TRIBUTE!
The deadline is fast approaching---August 15th--- to participate in the Alley Cat anthology to benefit Eric Lappegard.
This deadline is unfortunately pretty rigid, since we need the time to get the book printed.
If we get your artwork after the 15th, it will still be in the gallery show & sold via silent auction, but it will not be included in the anthology.
Please frame your own art, if possible... thrift stores work great for finding cheap frames. A frame will be provided if you cannot get one, but we'd certainly appreciate you getting your own.
Also, the fellas at Big Time Attic are at the Chicago Comicon until Monday, so you will want to wait until then to drop off your artwork.
Thanks much to all of you for participating.
Here is the info again about the anthology.
We don't yet have a press release for the larger event (which will include a bike race and a music event), but here is a very rough one for the gallery part of the event:
Alley Cat Art Benefit at Altered Esthetics Opening 5-8PM September 8th
Altered Esthetics and The International Cartoonist Conspiracy have organized an evening of cartoon wonderments for your amusement and illumination, featuring the work of over 40 cartoonists! All sales will go directly to benefit the family of cartoonist Eric Lappegard, who died in July due to complications from a car accident.
The event will include:
The release of Alley Cat , and anthology collecting comics about cats, bikes and ninjas... a limited edition created and printed specifically for this event.
The release of Schmapples by Eric Lappegard, a complete collection of his wonderful online strip, which can be viewed at ericlappegard.com.
A wide variety of original art (including most of the artwork from the Alley Cat anthology) and prints will be sold via silent auction... with bids starting at $20 or less. It should be a great opportunity to get some wonderful artwork at very affordable prices.
Music at Altered Esthetics will be provided by The Roe Family Singers.

How can we purchase additional copies of the anthology to help out? Cost per copy? Can they be mailed to me? I will not be able to attend the event but would be interested in snatching up a few to help.
Hi MJ! We don't know the cost per copy yet, but they are most likely going to be $10 each. We will definitely be shipping you one, and I'll check with you to see if you want to buy extras before it gets sent. Hope all is good with you!
Cool thanks.
