Saturday open studios–New host needed

Minneapolis Saturday Open Studio

Hello, Mike Toft here. I’m ready to retire as host of the Saturday open studios at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. It’s been 16 months, and I’m ready for somebody else to step up.

I’ll do the next open studio on December 21, then I’m done.

Seriously, it’s not that much work. The contact person at MCBA has already given me dates for January through April. All you have to do is update the conspiracy blog a few days ahead of time. Then, be there from noon to 4:00 pm. Then, contact MCBA for more dates as needed and update the Google calendar.

I’ll probably attend most of the time, just not EVERY time for the entire four hours.

Saturday Open Studio, November 9, noon to 4 pm

Minneapolis Saturday Open Studio

Come on down to the open studio on Saturday, November 9, noon to 4 pm, at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. Meet, talk, and draw with a few of your fellow cartoonists. We’ll be at the flexi-space (low tables).

The coffee shop will be open. There are outlets for your devices, plus coffee-shop wi-fi.

There is free parking in the MCBA lot immediately east of the building. If the lot is full, go to the metered street parking on 3rd Street (one block south of Washington Ave.) for 25 cents an hour, or to the higher-priced meters on the other streets. Or, walk or ride your bike.

This is an open studio — all are welcome. Feel free to hang out, draw, or whatever.
