St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam! This Thursday, April 16th, 2009!

Join the St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy Cell and create a jam comic! It’s easy and fun! Just bring some drawing utensils, an idea for the jam, and a few bucks to get a tasty beverage — the baristas really do appreciate that.

The jam will start promptly at 6:30 and run until…whenever.

The meetings are open to anyone who wants to draw with us, and the results are posted here sooner rather than later.

To join us come to:
Cosmic’s Coffee Shoppe

More not than often we head on over to grab a brew at:

St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy’s March 2009 Jam!

Another great turnout! This is the third month in a row that the St. Paul jam has occupied multiple booths at Cosmic’s! Thanks to all that participated!

And for those that showed up, you witnessed history. The LARPers that once shared the coffee shop with us cartoonists every third Thursday of the month were BANISHED from Cosmic’s! I’d like to say it was a game of chance, or some sort of contest, but it turns out there was some legal issues involved. However, no more vampires! No more makeup! And no more horrible Andrew Dice Clay impersonations! The Cartoonist Conspiracy St. Paul Cell wins!

For our documented rivalry with the Cosmic’s Coffee LARPers/vampires, click on the links below:

February 2009 Jam

Otherwise please enjoy our latest jam. It’s titled “Where Have All the Vampires Gone?” Yes, we are rather happy about this development. Be forewarned, the PDF is a whopping 5.7 MB!

If you’d like to participate in the next St. Paul jam, just show up on Thursday, April 16th, 2009 to Cosmic’s Coffee! Bring yourself and bring your friends, by force if you have to! Cartoonists have forced their friends to show up before! What’s stopping you?

St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy’s February 2009 Jam!

Wow! What a great turnout! This is the second time in a row that the St. Paul jam had to occupy multiple booths at Cosmic’s! Kudos to all those that showed up!

Weird instances and lifelong conversation pieces are commonplace at St. Paul jams. For example, as you may or may not know we Cosmic Coffee’s regular group of patrons are a group of LARPers (live action role players – in this case they think they are vampires). Generally they can be annoying, lately they’ve been quiet, but this last time around? They were conducting interviews “in character.” One guy was dressed as a mime, another brought in a bass guitar, and yet another said he was a poet. I had no clue what was going on, but had someone come in to rob the place, I would not have known if it was real or not.

But don’t let the strangeness of the St. Paul jams deter you from coming to the next! It just adds character. If you’d like to participate in the next St. Paul jam, just show up on Thursday, March 19th, 2009 to Cosmic’s Coffee! Bring yourself and bring your friends, by force if you have to! Cartoonists have forced their friends to show up before! What’s stopping you?

With the Minneapolis cell coming back down from their craziness cloud, we too decided to tone down our jam a bit. Yet another topic chosen by Ryan Dow, “How to Tell if Your Neighbor Went Bankrupt!”

St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy’s January 2009 Jam!

Good God has it been cold up here! We had been hovering around the minus 20 degree mark all this week and cartoonist STILL showed up to the jam! More than the signature page would have you believe as well! So, what’s keeping you from showing up to the next one?

Is it our long standing feud with the LARPers? Don’t worry. We have a truce. Is it because you have better things to do? Like what? I doubt there is anything better to do than to travel to St. Paul and create a jam comic. So, quit kidding yourself and show up to the next one!

If you’d like to participate in the next St. Paul jam, just show up on Thursday, February 19th, 2009 to Cosmic’s Coffee! Bring yourself and bring your friends, by force if you have to! Some cartoonists forced there friends to show up last time! What’s stopping you?

Exclamation point!

St. Paul Cartoonist Conspiracy December 2008!

We were all tired of the holidays. We were all tired of the cold? Also, we were all tired of the pressure to consume? Thus, a record number of participants descended upon Cosmics Coffee to create “The Return of Krampus 2008!” However, Steve Stwalley suggested that it had something to do with my bitching last month about nobody showing up to the jam. Perhaps that’s the case, who knows?

If you’d like to participate in the next St. Paul jam, just show up on Thursday, January 15th, 2009 to Cosmic’s Coffee! Bring yourself and bring your friends, by force if you have to!
