Comic Book Scripting at 2nd Annual UNM Young Writers Conference

2nd Annual UNM Young Writers Conference | Saturday, June 6 | 10:15 – 11:45 a.m. | UNM Student Union Building | Albuquerque, NM


7000 BC is once again pleased to participate in the UNM Young Writers Conference on Saturday, June 6 at University of New Mexico’s Student Union Building. Pete and Shirl will be leading the Comic Book Scripting workshop from 10:15-11:45, teaching the fundamentals of writing for sequential art.

June 7000 BC Meeting/Workshop

June Meeting and Comics-making Workshop | Saturday, June 13 | 1:00-3:00 | Warehouse 21 | Santa Fe, NM

The June 7000 BC meeting will be held at Warehouse 21 and combined with a comics-making workshop. We’ll begin around 1:00 (so that anyone coming from Albuquerque can take the Rail Runner) with the basics, and then move on to getting participants creating their comics with assistance from the group. Around 3:00 we’ll head out for food, probably to Second Street Brewery.

The workshop is free and new members are always welcome. Send an email with any questions.

string Free Comic Book Day 2009 Edition

Now available for download — the Free Comic Book Day 2009 Edition of string, collecting comics from the first 12 issues of 7000 BC‘s monthly anthology.

Copies will be given away at Free Comic Book Day events at Comic Warehouse and Lobo Anime (where Pete and Paul will be doing sketches) in Albuquerque, and at True Believers Comics and Gallery in Santa Fe (where there are bound to be some members just hanging around).

7000 BC at Denver ComicFest 2009

7000 BC is happy to be a part of ComicFest 2009, the inaugural comics event in Denver. It’s a part of Starfest, a convention encompassing all aspects of popular media, film and television.

Jeff and Bram will be participating in the Local Creator Spotlight on Friday night at 7:00, talking with other regional self-publishers. And all weekend long, we’ll be featuring comics from group members at the 7000 BC table in the Dealer Room.
