7000 BC at Bubonicon 43

Bubonicon 43 | Friday, August 26-Sunday, August 28 | The Sheraton Albuquerque Airport| Albuquerque, NM

7000 BC returns to Albuquerque’s annual science fiction and fantasy convention Bubonicon. We’ll be back in the dealers room with a table full of comics from the group.

Jeff will present a history and appreciation of Monsters in Comics on Saturday at 1:00 and our friends Robert and Amanda will discuss what goes into inventing a language Friday at 7:00, both in the Rio Grande Room. Full programming information is here.

We’ll also continue our tradition of creating a drawing of 43 rats — live, in front of your eyes — to be raffled off on Sunday night, with the winner to be drawn as the final rat; tickets available at the table.

7000 BC at Albuquerque Comic Expo

Albuquerque Comic Expo (ACE) | June 24–26 | Friday and Saturday, 10:00–7:00; Sunday, 10:00–6:00 | Albuquerque Convention Center | Albuquerque, NM

7000 BC is pleased to be a part of the inaugural Albuquerque Comic Expo, New Mexico’s premier comic book, pop culture and entertainment event.

For the first time ever, some of the biggest names in comics will join publishers, dealers, gamers, collectors, fan organizations, and more at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

This is our chance to build a major comic convention in New Mexico, so show your support and attend.

7000 BC will have a booth on the main floor, and many of our members and friends will have tables in Artist Alley. We’ll be updating our site with a list of can’t-miss comic creators, writers, and artists as the convention gets closer.

There’s still some space in Artist Alley — if you’re interested, we know a guy. Send an email.

Albuquerque Comic Expo

The first Albuquerque Comic Expo will be held June 24–26 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. There’s a terrific list of guests and exhibitors — and the Artist Alley is shaping up to be a great crowd.

7000 BC is encouraging our small press colleagues to join us at the show and make a strong showing for independent comics. Many of our members have their own tables, but 7000 BC will have a booth on the main show floor — and we plan on using it to show comics from our friends and point attendees to their table.

There’s registration info on the site — but we’ve got special pricing, so please send an email and/or leave a comment if you’re interested.

Join us — and bring your comics to a new audience.

FALLCON IS THIS WEEKEND!!! Volunteer to represent the Conspiracy at Fallcon!

Fallcon is this weekend!

Click the above image to go to the Fallcon website.

We have some volunteers for Fallcon this year, but we could definitely use some more. We’re planning to have a “Conspiracy lounge” again this year. Ideally, we would like a minimum of two people to be in the lounge at all times during the convention. It is a pretty casual and fun affair, and a good opportunity to get to know some of your fellow cartoonists better. We also need some comfy couches and chairs, if you can bring them. If you can volunteer or provide weekend furnishings for the lounge, please contact me at:

Thanks much!

The MCBA Has a New Website!

Our good friends at the Midwest Comic Book Association have a new website, so you’ll want to reset your links to them and update your bookmarks. For those of you not familiar with the MCBA, they are the organization that puts on our two big local, annual comic conventions in the Twin Cities, Fallcon and Microcon. Both conventions are renowned for their hospitality… the MCBA offers free table space to creators (until they run out). Additionally, they were a big sponsor of our BIG FUNNY project this year… indeed, it would not have been possible without them.

Can you believe the 21st Fallcon is in less than a month? I can’t wait!

Here’s a chicklet of the image of Kevin Cannon’s poster for Fallcon for your website, blog or social networking site…

FALLCON 21

Fallcon is also on Facebook here.

See you there!
