A Kickstarter campaign is underway for Cartozia Tales, an all-ages fantasy series based on a collaboratively-created map. The comics in the anthology are filled with imaginative creatures, memorable characters, secret messages and fantastical landscapes. It has been incredibly fun to work on, and the contributors’ enthusiasm really shows in the final product. Our regular contributors are Sarah Becan, Lucy Bellwood, Isaac Cates, Shawn Cheng, Tom Motley, Mike Wenthe, Jen Vaughn and me, Lupi. Each issue also contains stories by FABULOUS GUEST ARTISTS, including Dylan Horrocks, Jon Lewis, James Kochalka, Adam Koford, Kevin Cannon, and more.
For a pledge of only $28, you can get a full color 8×10 print of one of our covers or promo images.
For $36, you get an original custom watercolor portrait on a trading card from ME!
Also, digital subscriptions are now being offered as a reward, for those of you who don’t want to pay for shipping, or don’t have a lot of room on your shelves for books. Great option for readers outside the U.S.!

Rock Ink Roll is a celebration of art and rock music, brought to you by Altered Esthetics, The International Cartoonist Conspiracy, and Big Time Attic. We are producing an anthology of music-themed comics to be released at the Rock Ink Roll gallery show at Altered Esthetics in November 2013. The anthology will be a 8.5 x 8.5†full-color book of comics packaged to look like an LP, with cover art by Xeric-winner Brittney Sabo. The gallery exhibition will consist of original comic art and rock posters.
Okay so recently Rain Taxi decided to launch a literary journal and is including COMICS! The deal is that on Aug 25th at the Cedar the event will launch with art making and local bands, and all the content for the issue will be made between noon and midnight, which is old hat for you comic jammers. They asked me to be the comics editor and I thought of you guys immediately. Who better to do this than 24 hour comics day veterans?
The deal is though, that Rain Taxi is crowd funding the project in the style of Kickstarter. And the funding seems to be creeping so it is going to need all the help it can get to become a reality.
The main reason that I am campaigning so much for this project among many other equally worthy projects is that I think it is a VERY IMPORTANT step in Minneapolis art/print scene that Rain Taxi from the get go decided to give COMICS an equal billing along with the more familiar short stories, poetry and non fiction. I think if this project makes it it will be another step towards comics being seen as an integral part of such anthologies and not an afterthought or oddity.
So that all said, if this sounds like something you’d want to participate in or help support here is where you do it. (Also read more about the details)

Also if your work is selected this is gonna be a really nice book on the resume 😉
