San Francisco Jam tomorrow Feb 26, 2009 and WONDERCON 2009! What a weekend.

Hey all. This week is going to be big for Cartooning with Wondercon 2009 this weekend.

2. Wondercon 2009 Feb 27-Mar 1
3. Cartoon Art Museum Opening/Fundraiser

1 – The Cartoonist Conspiracy San Francisco comic jam is this week, Thursday Feb 26, 2009 the Church St. Café at 6:30pm. I expect some new faces who are in town for the convention.

We will finish up some old projects and work on a one sheet mini comic to take to Wondercon 2009.

Info: The Cartoonist Conspiracy San Francisco (CCSF) meets twice a month at 6:30 pm on the second and last Thursday of the month at the CHURCH STREET CAFé in San Fransisco CA.

WHEN: Thursday Feb 12, 2009 6:30 pm to usually sometimes between 9 and 10 pm.
WHERE: Church St. Cafe 260 Church Street San Francisco, CA 94114
MATERIALS: Bring your favorite drawing tools, paper, etc.

Tickets: Sliding scale from $10 to $35

“The Cartoon Art Museum’s Annual WonderCon Weekend Party will be held on Friday, February 27, 2008, from 8pm to 11pm. Admission to this ticketed event will be on a sliding scale from $10 to $35, with guests encouraged to contribute whatever they can to support the Cartoon Art Museum. Many of the featured artists and special WonderCon guests will be in attendance, including featured guests WATCHMEN co-creator Dave Gibbons and USAGI YOJIMBO creator Stan Sakai. Rare and signed books, prints and artwork will be raffled and auctioned throughout the evening, and additional special events and guests will be announced as the event approaches.

Special exhibitions featuring the comic art and props from the upcoming Warner Bros. film WATCHMEN; a look back at 25 years of Stan Sakai’s critically acclaimed comic book USAGI YOJIMBO; a spotlight on legendary Silver Age comics creator GENE COLAN; and highlights from the Cartoon Art Museum’s archives will be on display.
